MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - An early morning fire on Monday, April 4th, 2016, severely damaged a restaurant in a commercial center on FM 1488 near the Lake Windcrest subdivision, between Conroe and Magnolia. Firefighters from the Magnolia and Lake Conroe Fire Departments were first on scene and were able to contain the blaze before it spread to the rest of the building. The fire was set in a restaurant named “The Crawfish Joint”, located on the west end of the building, causing significant fire and smoke damage to the restaurant itself, and smoke damage to adjacent businesses before the fire was contained by responding firefighters. The 2 Alarm fire brought in crews from several departments to assist and Montgomery County Deputy Fire Marshals began an investigation into the cause of the fire as soon as it was brought under control.
