Township offers summer fun on Lake Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Township is home to two unique boathouses on the waterfront of Lake Woodlands. Lakes Edge Boat House and Riva Row Boat House both provide the opportunity to explore Lake Woodlands, create fun family memories, enjoy a special date night, or learn a new water sport all in the center of town.

The boathouses operate on weekends, holidays and have extended rental hours during the summer. This summer, the boathouses are open Thursday through Tuesday, closed on Wednesdays, and rentals are offered from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

During the first hour at both boathouses, single kayaks rent for $15 and tandem kayaks for $20. Each additional hour is $5. Stand-up paddle boards are available to rent at the Riva Row Boat House for $20 the first hour and $5 each additional hour. Rentals are offered on a walk-up basis. Lifejackets and paddles are included with each rental.

Lakes Edge Boat House is the newest boathouse. The new facility was donated to The Woodlands Township from The Woodlands® Development Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Howard Hughes Corporation®. Lakes Edge Boat House is located next to One Lakes Edge, a multifamily community at 1970 Hughes Landing Blvd., just a short walk from Whole Foods Market, Restaurant Row and the Lake Woodlands Boardwalk.

Riva Row Boat House has been in operation since 2009 and is located at 2101 Riva Row in the middle of Town Center. Riva Row Boat House is just a short walk from Market Street, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and Town Green Park.

As the second rental facility of kayaks on the waterfront of Lake Woodlands, the Lakes Edge Boat House works in partnership with Riva Row Boat House. Lakes Edge Boat House currently offers only kayak rentals, while Riva Row Boat House has more robust offerings. Riva Row Boat House offers stand-up paddle boards, individual and group lessons, team building events, group tours, and courses on water and boating safety.
