The Great Pumpkin Shoot raises $34,000 for Meals on Wheels

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Meals on Wheels Montgomery County (MOWMC) held their first annual “The Great Pumpkin Shoot – Aiming To Feed Seniors” sporting clay tournament sponsored by SWBC Mortgage on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Blackwood Gun Club in Conroe, TX. The fundraising event was a great success with over 100 people in attendance and raised more than $34,000 to feed local homebound elderly seniors in need in Montgomery County.

The 100-clay tournament featured fabulous auction items, including a Benelli M2 Semi-Automatic, and the opportunity to blast away water-filled pumpkins. Guests enjoyed breakfast sponsored by Entergy Texas. Blackhawk Specialty Tools cooked their special homemade jambalaya for everyone for lunch, which was sponsored by both Great American Title and Russo’s Pizzeria Conroe. Other sponsors included Vitruvian Exploration II, LLC, Entergy Texas, Inc., Cannon Custom Homes, Strike, Milstead Service Center, Morris Builders, The Strong Firm, P.C., Kroger, Ray Larson Real Estate Group and Corporate Housing Associates, LP.

Serving on the event committee were Mark Keough, Nancy and George Gray, Jim Kunning, Shelly Sauer, Eddie Murray, Marco Padilla, Mary Jo Schroeder, Rodney Anderson and Brent Wulf.
