THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy (Legacy Prep) in The Woodlands, Texas has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for their graduating class of 2017. Legacy Prep is excited to celebrate their fourth graduation ceremony at the end of this school year. Landon Davis has been named valedictorian and Jake Dye has been named salutatorian.

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12th. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college-worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

Landon Davis is graduating from Legacy Prep as valedictorian. He attended Legacy Prep for seven years. Davis was active in Legacy Prep’s National Honor Society and Student Council. He also played basketball, football and golf. Davis will be attending Mays Business School at Texas A&M University.

“Attending a college prep school with rigorous curriculum and teachers who truly care about your educational and personal success, Legacy has prepared me for the tough educational challenges awaiting me at Texas A&M,” stated Davis.

“My goal is to influence others through my words and actions, the way many people I look up to in my life have influenced me,” Davis added.

According to Legacy principal Shannon Jones, “We are so very proud of Landon. He has been involved in our campus with praise band and playing sports on top of all his academic accomplishments. I know Landon will be successful in college at Texas A&M and with anything that God puts before him.”

Jake Dye is graduating from Legacy Prep as salutatorian after attending Legacy Prep for six years. He will be attending Texas A&M University. Dye participated in track, the Legacy student band, and National Honor Society.

“Through my education and council from teachers and friends, I feel adjusted and prepared to move on,” said Dye. “As I leave Legacy, I hope my testimony will be an example of love to others.”

Principal Jones added, “Jake is so talented not only with his natural ability to learn in the classroom but also musically. His God given musical talent may take him just as far in life as his academics will. We have been so blessed to have him at Legacy, and we wish him well at Texas A&M.”
