THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The only thing better than getting together with friends for a day on the golf course is the opportunity to turn the experience into a fundraising effort for American heroes.

That’s what happened when a group of agents from RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring met up with a former agent from the office to take part in a recent “Battle of the Brokers” golf tournament presented and sponsored by Alamo Title Co.’s Dave Dickinson and Jackie Henager.

The team, composed of RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring agents Michael Mechaley, Jim Harper, Aaron Harris and Liz Smith, was joined by former RE/MAX agent Larry Trayler to take home the tournament’s top prize of $1,000, which they immediately donated to the Texas Sentinels Foundation.

“This donation speaks to the generosity and moral integrity of our agents and the way they continuously stand ready to honor those who dedicated their lives to protect our country,” said Brian Parker, owner/director of the RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring office. “The soldiers and families who have benefitted from the programs provided by Texas Sentinels Foundation deeply appreciate their efforts and assistance, as do all of us connected with the cause.”

Founded in 2007 by Richard and Jeanne Filip, owners of RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring and other RE/MAX franchises throughout the state, the goal of Texas Sentinels Foundation is to acknowledge the dedication of wounded American soldiers by providing debt-free homes and other life services to those whose personal sacrifices and heroic deeds are among the most vital steps necessary to ensure that freedom and security are available to all Americans.
