THE WOODLANDS, Texas-- CISD football will most certainly have its ups and downs for 2017 but one of the biggest things to lookout for is the amount of unseen talent on each of these teams and I am here to tell you the Top 10 players to lookout for this season for CISD.

1. Kesean Carter, WR The Woodlands

Carter is my number one player this year without a doubt. Carter is going to be the biggest piece for them this year if they want to win the State title. Carter’s 2016 campaign was tremendous as he racked up more than 900 yards receiving on 48 receptions. Carter helped out in the rushing game too with 163 yards on the ground last year. After the 2017 season Kesean will be playing ball at Texas Tech and he will make a huge impact.

2. Ethan Bonner, CB The Woodlands

The Stanford commit is my number two pick and for good reason. Bonner is always the first person to the ball and was a first team all-district selection for 2016-2017. This year Bonner is going to have a big role because he will have to be the one to lead the defense that will have to prove itself after the amount of talent that was lost through graduation. Bonner did get injured during the 7-on-7 season but I have high hope for a speedy recovery and hopefully see him on the field this year.

3. Bishop Durst, QB Oak Ridge

Bishop Durst is by far the most underrated player on this list and I don’t know why. Durst split time last year as quarterback and still threw for 1200 yards. Now that Durst is getting all the snaps, there is no doubt that he will sky rocket in popularity. If Durst can settle down on the turnovers Oak Ridge will be a scary team to deal with.

4. Jake Syptak, T The Woodlands

Jake Syptak is going to help out big time for The Woodlands offense. Syptak recently committed to SMU and for good reason, Syptak comes in at 6’5” and 270 pounds. He is a brick wall and expect the quarterback to have a ton of time in the pocket.

5. Cooper Lucas, SS College Park

Lucas is another name that doesn’t pop up too often but let me tell you that this kid can flat out play. Lucas recorded 87 tackles last season and was all over the field. If you want a strong safety who hits like a truck but can make a play from the other side on the field, you got him right here in Cooper Lucas. Keep a close eye out for Cooper this year in College Park’s new system under Lonnie Madison.

6. Donaven Lloyd, RB Conroe

Lloyd is another overlooked player that deserves a ton of praise. This kid is a big, powerful back who can bust upfield in a split second. Lloyd stands at 5’8” and weighing in at almost 200 pounds. Donaven is a scary back and he will do some big things in 2017

7. Jackson Shearer, MLB The Woodlands

If we are talking about important keys for The Woodlands then Shearer is one of them. The linebacker group will be centered around him and he is going to step up this year and make some big plays for them. Shearer is a natural leader and him and Bonner together will make out to be a nasty duo on defense.

8. Tanner Lacy, WR Oak Ridge

Lacy is an easy number eight because he is now the number one target for Bishop Durst. Tanner will give you height at the receiver position and that will become super important in the red zone. Oak Ridge has an impressive offensive group and their passing game will be dangerous this year. Watch out for Lacy.

9. Austin Fox, TE College Park

College Park has a big question mark on their offensive side but one thing they do have is Austin Fox. With Chase Lane leaving for St. Pius X, Fox will be the best target for them this year. Fox will bring some light for their offense and he is big and he is fast. If College Park can get him the ball then they will have success.

10. Tyler Johnson, T Oak Ridge

Johnson will bring even more talent back to that highly touted offense of Oak Ridge. Johnson will bring alot of size to the front seven that will be in charge of blocking for Bishop Durst. The amount of time Durst will get with this kid on the line is amazing and it will add to the already stacked War Eagle offense. Johnson is very highly recruited and doesn't graduate until 2019. Defenses will not be able to get through Johnson so definitely look out for this kid in 2017.
