THE WOODLANDS, Texas-- Coach Madison’s final game as the Defensive Coordinator for Klein Collins was a heartbreaking 42-31 loss to Desoto’s high potent offense in the Class 6A Division II State Semi-Finals game.

Madison looks to lead College Park to their first playoff victory in almost a decade behind a new offensive scheme and some explosive talent in the skilled positions.

A 3-4 defense seems to be the model Coach Madison will use during his first year and will be some familiar territory due to its impact on the Klein Collins success in 2016. Senior Safety Cooper Lucas will be CP’s ball hawk this year coming off an impressive individual campaign with 87 tackles.

On the offensive side of the ball, Madison has a company of Quarterbacks to choose from with names such as Jake Hunnicutt, Max Bowman, and Luke Trahan all looking to be College Park’s number 1 signal caller. Losing Chase Lane makes the quarterback job a little harder but with Madison’s fresh style of play, the Cavs look to be one of the more exciting teams in the area.

Joining Madison this year are Offensive Coordinator Steven Bruce and Defensive Coordinator Eric Parsley. Both making the transition along with Madison, the Cavaliers will have a significant boost of firepower from the former Tigers.

As the offseason comes to a close, it’s safe to say College Park is in a rebuild and the identification process. Coach Madison’s first season should have a different feel on the community with Coach Carson retiring but the future is bright for the Cavaliers.
