The Woodlands: Mark Schmid

Coach Schmid finished a magnificent run in 2016 but unfortunately it ended short as they lost to Lake Travis in the state finals. 2017 is a fresh start for the Highlanders to try and get back to the state championship game. Schmid has a lot of spots to fill this year as he lost a ton of talent in the offseason including a lot of talent on the defensive front. Another loss for him is the loss of Ethan Bonner at Cornerback as he injured his ACL during the 7-on-7 season. Coach Schmid will also have to adjust his offense with his son leaving and decide who will run his team under center.

College Park: Lonnie Madison

Coach Madison is coming to College Park High School as the second Head Coach in College Park football history. College Park still has to make a name for itself as far as where they stand in 6A football. College Park has had a history of talented teams that have just not ended up well. Welcome to the new era of College Park football with Lonnie Madison coming to resurrect a program in a time of need. Madison has a ton of talent to work with in his first year at College Park and I see a playoff bid for them in 2017.

Oak Ridge: Dereck Rush

Oak Ridge had a upset of a season last year because of the crazy talent that Oak Ridge had especially on the offensive side of the ball. This year with Bishop Durst and Tanner Lacy returning there is still a dangerous offense to deal with coming from this school. Coach Rush needs to use the offensive tools he has this season to really excel in this district. Although the offense looks solid, the defense still has some questions to answer. Coach Rush is not in bad shape this year and it will be interesting to see what Oak Ridge will do this year.

Conroe: Robert Walker

With a running back like Donaven Lloyd there will be a powerful running game coming from Conroe, Texas. Coach Walker needs to get Lloyd the ball as much as possible this season and if they can do that then big things will happen for their offense, Conroe still needs to prove that they belong in this tough district and that means games need to be won. This will be the most successful running game in the district if they can get the ball to Lloyd.

Caney Creek: Steven Svendsen

Caney Creek still needs to make a statement as a team and it will all start with Coach Svendsen. The offense this year will need to come in clutch moments and they have some positive names at the quarterback position to run that offense. If Caney Creek can run on all cylinders on offense then this will be a spectacular season for them in 2017.
