MC-CARES mobilizes to provide disaster resources and relief

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The MC-CARES (Montgomery County Community Assistance Recovery Efforts and Services) is a collaborative team of non-profit organizations, local congregations and county agencies created to respond and help citizens of Montgomery County to recover from disasters. The team activated this week in response to Hurricane Harvey and the flooding it has brought to Montgomery County.

MC-CARES, led in partnership by Interfaith of The Woodlands and United Way, has announced five donation collection sites in Montgomery County. These Hubs are prepared to accept donations. The following items are most needed: baby food, baby formula, diapers, new undergarments, hygiene products, water, squeeze pouch fruit and vegetables, easy open canned fruit and vegetables, pasta and convenience meals, granola bars, toilet paper, paper towels, mops, brooms, garbage bags, towels, and blankets. The Hubs are as follows:

Central Montgomery County:

Additionally, the Montgomery County Food Bank will be accepting mass quantity food, personal care items and toiletries at: One Food for Life Way, Conroe, TX 77385 Phone: 936-539-6686 (GPS will recognize- 1 Prospect Point Conroe, TX 77385)

MC-CARES is in direct communication with Montgomery County’s Office of Emergency Management and Montgomery County disaster response representatives to continue to meet ongoing needs. Please see the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management website for up-to-date shelter openings.
