THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The 2017-2018 High School Football season is upon us, and here are five players you probably haven't heard of. Until now.

1. Bishop Durst- QB, Oak Ridge

After splitting time with now Running Back/Wide Receiver Blake Blattel, Bishop Durst will now be the primary Quarterback in what’s projected to be a high powered War Eagle offense. Durst threw for around 785 yards and accounted for 10 total touchdowns for Oak Ridge last season. One constant for Durst this year is he has another exceptional group of Wide Receivers this season to work with. There’s no doubt that Durst will throw for over 1000 yards this year and throw for at least 10 touchdowns.

2. Darrius Jelks- WR, Oak Ridge

Jelks had an exceptional year last year as the third receiver next to Kyle Townsend and Tanner Lacy. After a season where Jelks caught over 15 passes and hauled in a few scores, Jelks is set for a season that can be very beneficial to the War Eagles offense. Jelks has an explosive Quarterback to work with this year in Bishop Durst and is setup for a lot of success this season. Jelks could bust out this year and end up with around 600 yards and 10 total touchdowns this season.

3. Travis Washburn- RB, College Park

After spending a couple years away from the game, Washburn is back and has potential to be a vital piece to this Cavalier this season. Washburn is looking to bring versatility to Coach Madison’s offense as Washburn has very good hands and could be a potent threat in the passing game out of the back field. It has yet to be seen how often the Cavaliers will run the ball this year but with Washburn being a dual threat out of the back field, he surely will fill up the stat sheet every game.

4. Jake Hunnicut- QB, College Park

Hunnicut enters in as the primary signal caller for the Cavaliers this season after Jordan Turnquest graduated this past summer. While only a junior, Hunnicut has an amazing Wide Receiver group to work with, along with the before-mentioned Travis Washburn in the backfield. Coach Madison brings a Shotgun/Spread type offense that gives Hunnicut the potential to be one of the top 3 Quarterback in the district. If Hunnicut can stay healthy the whole season, he could end up with around 850 yards and 6 touchdowns through the air.

5. Donaven Lloyd- RB, Conroe

Lloyd could’ve easily been number one on this list because he’s known, but not unless you pay very close attention to Conroe ISD football. Lloyd is hands down one of the most skilled runner in the district, but plays on a Conroe team that hasn’t played very well the past decade. If you watch Lloyd’s tape you will notice that he can be an aggressive back or a finesse back. The Senior will a key cog to this Tiger offense this upcoming season. I have Lloyd gaining 1000+ yards and scoring 12 touchdowns for the Tigers this season.
