Conroe ISD football: The Woodlands College Park vs. Tomball pre-game teaser

THE WOODLANDS, Texas-- Friday night lights is back at Woodforest Stadium Sept. 8 at 7:30 pm when the College Park Cavaliers take on the Tomball Cougars. It has been long awaited for the season to officially start after Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area and delayed all CISD football games a week as the Cavaliers were originally supposed to face the Klein Bearkats.

The Cavaliers finally get their chance to prove themselves under their new system and Tomball is a good challenge for them to start off the season. College Park looking to get off to a hot start this season with a lot of questions surrounding the team and the biggest one is how they will respond after a 1-9 season. Although College Park looked great on the meet the player practice this will be the first time in a real game for them this season and we will get to see if these questions will be answered starting on Friday night. Tomball is hungry to prove themselves as well after a 2-8 season last year which will make for an interesting first game.

Tomball recently hired Kevin Flanigan as their new head coach after his reign as West Brook’s head coach. Flanigan has experience in the district so he is no stranger to facing College Park. Both teams have new coaches and new systems that are looking to come out with a win in this one to start off fresh.

It’s going to be exciting to watch this one unfold and for both of these teams to have successful seasons with their new coaches. The Cavaliers have to have their offense on top of things this season and with the pair of Quarterbacks they have fighting for the starting spot it will be a high flying offense no matter who they put in to run their shotgun spread style offense under coach Madison.
