THE WOODLANDS, Texas-- College Park ran into a tough opponent last week as Tomball beat the Cavs 49-14, led by an outstanding performance by Tybo Taylor. This Friday will be College Park’s homecoming game at Woodforest Bank Stadium and look to find their footing against a strong Deer Park team.

Both teams will be looking for their first win of the season in this one. College Park turned to junior quarterback Jake Hunnicutt to start last week’s season opener and it will be interesting to see if they decide to stick to the game plan or bring in senior starting receiver Max Bowman as the Cavs signal caller.

Last week’s Woodlands Online Athlete of the Week, Daniel Vann, will be College Park’s workhorse for their offense, coming off an impressive week one performance. The defense, lead by the dynamic defensive back duo, Adam Myres and Cooper Lucas, should be able to help bring College Park their first win of the season.

As Deer Park is also coming off a loss to Pearland Dawson, they will look to junior quarterback Broc Weidner to lead the passing attack for the Deers. As their offense struggled in their opener, the Deers will have put extra time in practice to strengthen their first game flaws.

The Cavaliers and Deers will play at Woodforest Bank Stadium on Friday September 15th at 7p.m. The homecoming game for College Park always seems to give them an edge for that week but the Deers are coming off a close game in which they came up short. A win for either team will give them the boost needed to really get their season started.
