College Park came up with one of their biggest wins in program history last Friday against a gritty Deer Park team, winning 20-19 on a last second field goal by Carson Mohr. They look to continue these heroics in College Station this Friday against A&M Consolidated.

The Cavalier’s running attack has carried them on the first two weeks of the season. With running backs Dane Vann and Travis Washburn earning Woodlands Online Sports Athlete of the Week in back to back weeks. Look for Coach Madison to lean on both guys this week to come away with their first road win since 2015.

This week will not be different for the Cavaliers as they face tough opponent A&M Consolidated who are already 3-0 on the season. The Tigers will have junior quarterback Caden Fedora running the offense. Fedora, coming off a near 300 yard passing game, could test College Park’s injury filled secondary. The Cavaliers will need to pressure the young quarterback if the defense wants to contain Fedora.

Seeing how the Cavaliers will handle their first road game will be a key storyline to follow for Friday night’s game. With new Coach Lonnie Madison, returning varsity players will have to conform to Madison’s pre-road trip rituals. Although, coming off a deep playoff run with the Klein Collins Tigers, the Cavaliers have an experienced teacher to learn from.

With last week’s intense homecoming victory look for College Park to come out smashing. Jake Hunnicutt seems to be College Park’s man after starting the first two games of the season. Hunnicutt and the Cavs have the firepower to take down another tough contender this week, but ultimately A&M is off to a hot start and don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Tigers take this one 34-14 at home.
