THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands College Park High School Cavaliers are coming off a close loss to the highly ranked A&M Consolidated team in last week’s matchup.

Head Coach Lonnie Madison has centered his game plan around two senior running backs, Dane Vann and Travis Washburn. With Vann not making the trip to College Station, and Washburn being limited due to injury, the Cavaliers were led by Player of the Game Austin Fox.

Washburn and Vann should be available in this week’s Woodlands Online broadcast game which will help improve the Cavaliers offense from last week. The inclusion of receiver Roger Younger in the running game has helped the Cavaliers maintain a productive rushing attack. Quarterback Jake Hunnicutt has found success with Peyton Sobosle this season, hooking up for two touchdowns in the first three games.

College Park faces another tough task this week with Lufkin. Scoring more than 35 points in each of their four games this season, Fox and the Cavs defense will need to continue their hard- hitting play in this one. Fox leads the team in total tackles, sacks, and tackles for loss and has plenty of defensive talent around him with Cooper Lucas, Haden Stark, and Adam Myres.

Friday’s matchup can go either way with both teams having such different play styles. Look for Lufkin to try and score as many points as possible, and for College Park to come out hitting hard.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. at Woodforest Bank Stadium.
