MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Congressman Kevin Brady wants to help spread the word about a blood drive on Friday Oct. 6 at the Conroe VA Outpatient Clinic.

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center said that following Hurricane Harvey and the mass shooting in Las Vegas, many individuals are seeking opportunities to help - and giving blood is an act that can help someone in need at any time.

The Blood Center also said about 1,000 donations a day are required in the Texas Gulf Coast region to meet ongoing needs.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. Individuals who are 16 years old, at least 122 pounds, in good general health and have their parents’ consent also may donate.

Congressman Brady will be at the Conroe VA Outpatient Clinic to make his own donation around noon.

Walk-ins are welcome, or you can schedule a donation time online, or by calling 1-888-482-5663.
