THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Carol Stromatt appears to have won the seat of Pos. 7 (Secretary) on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors.

Unofficial results show her receiving 53 percent of the vote against incumbent Laura Fillaut.

Stromatt had an edge throughout the night, beginning with a lead of a few hundred votes from early voting.

“I am eager to serve the community that I love by pursuing financially-sustainable, forward-looking solutions to the unique challenges we face in The Woodlands,” Stromatt said when she initially threw her hat in the ring.

Stromatt, an Indian Springs Village Association board member, also said she embraces the diverse community in The Woodlands.

"We can draw on a broad scope of viewpoints and life experiences to ensure our Township remains strong into the future," she said. "I intend to work with residents of all backgrounds to find a path forward on complex issues like resident mobility, MUD taxes, incorporation, and value-based community enhancements for the elderly and young families.”

All results are unofficial until the election is canvassed at The Woodlands Township Board of Directors meeting Friday Nov. 17.
