Legacy Lions advance to regional playoffs

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy has advanced to the Regional Championship round of football playoffs. The team finished their regular season with an 8-1 record in TAPPS district 6-3A. Legacy Prep clinched the Area Championship and received a bye for the first round of playoffs.

According to Clint McDonald, Legacy Prep Head Administrator and Head Football Coach, “Legacy’s coaching staff is very proud of our team this year. They have overcome a lot of adversity throughout the year and have responded with a fierce tenacity that has allowed them to get to this point in the season. This is an exciting time of year for our team, their families, and our school. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for the next month of playoffs.”

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12 th with over 400 students. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college-worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

Carter Jones, Legacy Prep senior, stated, “As a team, we feel very confident going into the playoffs. We have worked hard to get to this point in the season.” The offensive and defensive line player added, “As a senior, I am extremely proud of our team. It is incredible to be the first seed in the playoff bracket.”

Legacy will play in the Regional Championship game Saturday, November 25th , against the winner of Hallettsville Sacred Heart and Temple Central Texas Christian. The game will be played in Giddings at 2:00 PM at Buffalo Stadium. Make plans to come out and support the Legacy Lions.

Legacy Prep Head Administrator Audra May expressed her congratulations to the team. “Legacy may be a young school but we have been picking up steam for a few years now with our hearts set on winning a state championship. We are proud of our coaches and players and can’t wait to show our support for them next Saturday. With every win, they will make history!”
