Sheriff's Office arrest three in Spring for felony injury to a child

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- On October 15, 2016, Deputies and Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched 29500 block of Raestone Street, Spring, Texas in reference to the death of a 14 year old special needs child at a residence.

On November 14, 2017, Deputies and Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested three suspects for Injury to a Child as a result of their investigation. The three suspects arrested are identified as Tommieretta Gunner and Marreissa Jones and the child’s father Anthony Jackson. Gunner and Jones were charged with first-degree felony injury to a child charge, while Jackson was charged with third degree felony injury to a child.

During the investigation, Detectives learned that there was video surveillance inside the residence that caught the abuse of the 14-year old child. During the investigation, Detectives and Deputies learned that numerous individuals had used a stun gun on the child over a period of several months. Jackson is seen using the stun gun seven times and threatening her at least 15 other times over that period.

Also caught on video surveillance was Gunner and Jones giving the child two different high blood pressure medication over a three-week period. Jones is employed through a home healthcare provider and was assigned as a caretaker for the child. Detectives learned that the child was not prescribed the blood pressure medication by a medical professional. Video surveillance also showed the child’s mental and physical faculties change significantly after Gunner, Jones and Jackson gave her the blood pressure medication.

On October 15, 2016, after Gunner and Jones gave the child the medication she became unresponsive and they called 911. The child was taken Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was conducted by Montgomery County Forensic Services and ruled the child’s manner of death a homicide caused by toxic effects of the blood pressure medication.
