THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Houston Methodist Emergency Care Center in The Woodlands is teaming up with Interfaith of The Woodlands and Texas United for Puerto Rico for a toy drive on December 9 from 8 to 11 a.m.

The community is asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to the emergency care center, located at the intersection of FM 1488 and Kuykendahl Road in The Woodlands. The toys will be given to underprivileged children in Montgomery County and to children in Puerto Rico affected by Hurricane Maria.

Houston Astros’ shortstop, Carlos Correa, recently teamed up with Mario Polo, M.D., an interventional neuroradiologist with Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital and Ricardo Flores, M.D. with Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands to send much needed supplies and food to Puerto Rico. Texas United for Puerto Rico has already sent thousands of pounds of medication, solar-powered lights, food and other critical needs items to San Juan.

Correa will make an appearance at the toy drive at approximately 10 a.m. and will sign autographs for about an hour on a first come, first served basis for those who bring a toy donation.

Houston Methodist Emergency Care Center in The Woodlands is located at 3759 FM 1488, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.
