THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is committed to providing an unparalleled patient experience to those receiving care in the hospital, located on the southeast corner of I-45 and Highway 242. This holiday season, the hospital teamed up with local schools, a professional opera singer and the one-and-only Santa Claus to help bring the spirit of the season to patients and their families.

Singers and musicians were invited to the hospital to perform beloved Christmas carols in the lobby. While the performances were sure to draw crowds on the first floor, as part of the Houston Methodist culture of Leading Medicine, the hospital leadership team wanted to make sure all patients could enjoy the joyful sounds of these talented groups. Thanks to modern technology, the performances were live streamed to televisions in patient rooms and to waiting areas throughout the hospital, adding to the hospital’s environment of healing.

One special day, Santa Claus made a visit to the childbirth center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to meet newborns and their families.

“While a dad was waiting for his newborn’s picture to be taken, he commented about how lucky he felt knowing he didn’t have to take his infant in public, around germs, to have his first photo with Santa. We talked about the importance of avoiding crowds during flu season with a newborn at home,” said Elizabeth Barnett, director of the childbirth center. “What a great opportunity this was for our families.”

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
