MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The 2018 Sci://Tech Elementary Science Festival took place Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Lone Star Convention and Expo Center in Conroe, Texas. The festival is one of many events that makes up the four-week-long Sci://Tech Exposition which is organized by the Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA).

During the Huntsman Elementary Science Festival, Conroe ISD elementary schools hosted interactive booths where students were able to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for discovery with families. Those present also had the opportunity to watch students and student teams participate in a Math Bowl, Forensics Demonstration, Robotics Demonstration, and PBK Sci.Math.e.Lon in which their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math was on full display.

The festival was preceded by the Anadarko Senior High Science Bowl, Technical Writing Competition, Entergy Junior High Science Fair, and Chevron Phillips Senior High Science Fair.

“The goal of the Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA) is to connect business and education in Montgomery County. The is put into practice during the many events of the Science Exposition,” stated CISD Coordinator of Science Sheryl Hime. "Community members work with our CISD educators in the creation and logistics of events such as the Biotechnology Competition and Repsol High School Engineering Design Competition at Lone Star College as well as the Consolidated Communications Junior High School Engineering Design Competition at Moorhead Junior High. We are fortunate to have such strong support from the community and EfTA.”

The last event of the 2018 Sci://Tech Exposition will take place this weekend when the Consolidated Communications Junior High Engineering Design Competition is held at Moorhead Junior High School from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
