MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Student artists from Montgomery County high schools were asked to think critically and conceptually about their identity and submit work to a Photography Competition sponsored by The Woodlands Arts Council.

The theme for the competition was “Identity.” By examining representations of the self, students were asked to create work specific to their own personal experiences and inner reflections. A jury of artists judged the competition and the following students were awarded:

  • Teke Ewherido (The John Cooper School) first place, for “See No Evil, Speak No Evil"
  • Caroline Muhith (The John Cooper School) second place for “One With Nature”
  • Maya Roble (The John Cooper School), third place for “Skins”
  • Evalyn Linantud (The Woodlands HS), honorable mention for “Model Figure”

These photographs are on exhibit at the pop-up gallery located at Market Street for the duration of March, then they are to be moved to the Spotlight Gallery located on the second floor of The Woodlands Mall.
