THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Township Board of Directors announced the kickoff of future governance/incorporation planning meetings to involve Township residents in the dialogue of future governance options in The Woodlands.

The Township has engaged consulting firms to assist with the incorporation planning process and updates from the consultants will be provided at each of the Township Board meetings through 2018. The public will have the opportunity to provide feedback to the Board at each of the meetings. The Township will also be hosting community Town Hall meetings in September and in November to discuss the incorporation planning process.

Township Chairman Gordy Bunch said he and his colleagues on the board desire to harness collective thoughts, ideas and opinions of Township residents in this process.

“We are in the process of establishing and prioritizing challenges and solutions, gauging levels of support for specific ideas and activities, and contributing to the ongoing dialogue of our future governance structure,” he said. “The Township Board is all about awareness, informing, educating, and enhancing the credibility of this future governance process. We want residents of The Woodlands to be involved.”

To fully engage feedback from Township residents, the Board unanimously voted at its Thursday, April 19, 2018 meeting, to have the fourth Wednesday of the month meeting at 6 p.m. strictly focused on input from residents and reports from two governance consultants. The first public input session is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018. This meeting follows a 4 p.m. regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting that involves other matters at The Woodlands Township.

All meetings are held at The Woodlands Township, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, The Woodlands, Texas 77381.
