THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands School for Young Scholars, a small privately-owned preschool and day school that has educated thousands of local children for the past 27 years, will be closing at the end of the 2018 school year. The last day of school will be May 25, and the school will remain open through June 2.

“We would like to thank all of the families over the years for giving TWSFYS an opportunity to be a part of their students beginning years, and building A Love of Learning For A Lifetime,” Sheryl Krzemien, the school’s Director and Owner for the past 15 years, said. “We have grown with this community, and we have cherished the time that we have spent with each and every family and student; both current and alumni. This community will always be our home. Each student has left a mark on our hearts, and we have been incredibly blessed to know them.”

The school is incredibly proud to have fostered a love of learning in each of the children that walked through its doors. Their goal to encourage individuality, self-esteem, respect for others, and a wide world view can be seen in their happy, successful students and alumni each day. Krzemien has cultivated a culture of giving at the school, and is extending that mission even in its closure.

The school will be donating its resources to St. Augustus School in Belton, Texas, and to a local Houston-area school that is still working to recover from damages caused during Hurricane Harvey. Additional resources will be auctioned off at the school on June 1 and 2 for educators looking to supplement their materials. Items available will include furniture, books, and other educational materials.
