Giving Goes Glam raises funds for two Woodlands nonprofits

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Giving Goes Glam Fashion Show and Luncheon, presented by CHI St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital, was held Friday, April 13th at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

Over 800 guests attended in support of the 7th annual event raising over $350,000. The fashion show and luncheon, hosted by Interfaith of The Woodlands and Junior League of The Woodlands, combined fashion and philanthropy in support of the programs and services of both organizations.

Laura Bomer, President of Junior League of The Woodlands shared, “Giving Goes Glam was a wonderful opportunity for Interfaith and Junior League to join together and collectively raise funds and awareness for the many needs in our community. Glamourous fashion, giving hearts, and fabulous friends made for an amazing afternoon – the results of which will allow our two organizations to continue important mission-driven work. We are grateful for all the donors, attendees, and volunteers, whose generosity and time made this event a success once again!”

The venue was draped with white chiffon, and an array of rose gold décor and beautiful white floral arrangements were showcased throughout, creating the perfect backdrop for the event. This year’s luncheon also included a once in a lifetime live auction for New York Fashion Week tickets to the alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet show.

The event was emceed by KPRC 2’s, Jennifer Reyna, and featured a community model presentation honoring six outstanding ladies who have positively impacted the community through their volunteerism and service. This year’s honorees were Angela Banzhaf, Candice Burrows, Shirelle Chimenti, Ali May, Allison Tinker, and Amy Young, who walked the runway while being cheered on by family and friends. Guests were then wowed by the fashion show presented by alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet brought to you by River Oaks District – Houston.

Interfaith of The Woodlands President and CEO, Missy Herndon, shared, “We are truly thankful for a community that continues to support our missions and helps us raise critical funds to meet the ever-growing needs of our community. Giving Goes Glam symbolizes the power of community collaborations and the collective impact of the efforts on families in need.”

The celebration continued at the sold-out “Afterparty” at Churrascos generously underwritten by LUXE by The Kink Team. The afternoon proved to echo the message that “Giving is Glamorous!”
