THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Congratulations to the graduating high school seniors of the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center’s (MHTW) Junior Volunteer Program.

This year, the MHTW Auxiliary rewarded 28 of its graduating Junior Volunteers with a total of $30,000 in college scholarships. The top scholarships were awarded to Madelyn Oliver ($3,500) and Reshma Kurian ($2,100). The remaining scholarships were awarded in the amounts of $1,500, $1,000 or $750.

Each year the Auxiliary raises the money for the scholarships by having fundraising sales on the Hospital’s campus along with additional proceeds from the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Gift Shop. In order to apply for the scholarships, the Junior Volunteer must be a member of the program for two years, have accumulated 140 hours per year, complete an essay and interview, plus must participate in two outside community service events that represent MHTW.
