Montgomery County Commissioner Precinct 2 Charlie Riley in, Precinct 4 Commissioner Jim Clark out: Unofficial Runoff Election results
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Montgomery County Commissioner Precinct 2 Charlie Riley will move forward to the Nov. 6 General Election.
Riley, who has served as Commissioner since 2015, won 55.95 percent of the May 22 runoff vote against contender Greg Parker, who garnered just over 44 percent.
County Commissioner Precinct 2 was a hotly contested seat after the March 6 election, with incumbent Riley receiving approximately 43.5 percent of votes and contender Greg Parker receiving approximately 42.9 percent of votes.
Hot topics in the county include constitutional authority in the Commissioner's Court, county-wide mobility, and flood mitigation.
County Commissioner Precinct 4 was also on the runoff ballot. Incumbent Jim Clark lost to contender James Metts, 48.28 percent to 51.82 percent.
