Dynamo/Dash Youth Soccer Club hosts U.S. Amputee Soccer Lonestar Invitational in The Woodlands
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Houston Dynamo/Dash Soccer Club is very honored to have the opportunity of hosting The American Amputee Soccer Association event this coming weekend at Gosling Park.
"We are very much looking forward to hosting three national-level teams and helping US Amputee Soccer in providing an opportunity for their preparation plans for the upcoming World Cup in Mexico," said Coach Keith Johnson, U.S. Paralympic Men's National Team player and Houston Dynamo/Dash Youth Soccer Club coach. "The club is extremely proud to host this event and be a supporting factor for this great cause."
Teams from Haiti, England the USA will compete against each other in a preparation event leading up to the Amputee Soccer World Cup which will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 25 - November 5, 2018.
"Amputee soccer to me is about not letting amputation define who you are," said Robert Ferguson, U.S. National Team soccer player. "It is to prove that we are just as capable as anyone with all their limbs."
