The Woodlands Arts Council thanks Waste Connections for its support of Adopt-A-School Program

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Waste Connections, a leading waste services company headquartered in The Woodlands, has pledged its support to The Woodlands Arts Council’s Adopt-A-School Program for the upcoming school year. Since its inception, Adopt- A-School has impacted over 30,000 students in Title-1 schools in Montgomery County by providing positive messaging programs, cultural experiences and TEKS-based curriculum programs.

“Waste Connections is thrilled to work with The Woodlands Art Council and Glen Loch Elementary for the Adopt-A-School Program this year,” said Michael Danielson, Sales & Marketing for Waste Connections Texas. “As we learned more about the program and its incredible benefits, we were excited to take the next step and become a sponsor. Getting involved and empowering organizations in the communities we serve is a passion of Waste Connections and our employees. Waste Connections is a full-service waste and recycling collector headquartered on The Woodlands Waterway, where we employ hundreds of people from The Woodlands area. We pride ourselves in making a difference in the communities we serve, especially this great community where we are headquartered.”

The Woodlands Arts Council’s Adopt-A-School Program includes music or art supply stipends; in-school cultural arts performances by groups such as Houston Grand Opera; field trips to visit The Houston Ballet, Glade Fine Arts Museum and The Woodlands Art Benches; performances at the Alley Theater; Drumming with Dan Egger-Belandria; and in- school interactive art projects including Art Around the World facilitated by The Woodlands Children’s Museum.

“We are grateful to Waste Connections and other generous sponsors for supporting our efforts to make a difference in the lives of student artists and arts educators,” said The Woodlands Arts Council Board President Deb Spiess. “These sponsorships enable us to continue to be an organization where ‘passion meets purpose’ by reaching out through the arts.”
