THE WOODLANDS, Texas – There's a whole lot happening this week in The Woodlands, including music, cards and home improvement. In fact, there's so much, we have a bonus event. Check it out.

The Houston Symphony will be at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Tuesday Sept. 4 for "Rebels, Raiders & Superman: A Tribute to John Williams." Williams is an American composer, conductor and pianist. If you don't recognize his name, you will surely recognize his scores from movies including the Star Wars series, Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and more. Williams, now 86, composed music for all but three of Steven Spielberg's films. Mezzanine and lawn seating is free; orchestra seating is $20. The Woodlands Christian Academy invites you to visit the preK-12th grade college preparatory school 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 5. You will tour the 40-acre campus, visit classrooms, and meet students and teachers. Applications for the 2019-2020 school year are now available. For more info Click Here.

The annual Cards & Cocktails event hosted by The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce has a new location this year. Mingle with the business community Thursday Sept. 6 at The Woodlands Country Club. Cocktail Hour and a Poker Teach & Learn lesson begins at at 6 p.m. Festivities include music, food, drinks and a raffle. Get information for purchasing tickets here.

Live high school football is back at Woodlands Online! We will be broadcasting live Thursday Sept. 6 from Woodforest Stadium as The Highlanders face Lamar. Perhaps even more exciting? Former TWHS Coach Mark Schmid will be commentating the game along with Vinny Sinisi. You don't want to miss this. The Westin at The Woodlands is celebrating the upcoming inaugural Woodlands Pride Festival with a pool deck kickoff party at 7:30 p.m. Friday Sept. 7. Tickets include access to the party with a live DJ, one cocktail, pool deck games including Corn Hole and Giant Jenga, and the chance to win a $50 bar tab that night and a weekend for two at The Westin.
