Rayford Road project forges ahead; Wild Rose Drive realignment completed

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The contractor for the Rayford Road Safety and Mobility project finished the relocation of the Wild Rose intersection and traffic signal last Thursday – one day ahead of schedule.

The intersection shifted slightly to the west of its previous location, with a new stretch of asphalt road constructed as Wild Rose approaches Rayford Road, including a dedicated right- turn lane from northbound Wild Rose Drive onto eastbound Rayford.

“I am happy to see progress continue on the Rayford Road project,” Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack said. “The Northstar Traffic Operations team will continue to monitor this intersection in the coming days to ensure traffic is moving efficiently.”

The contractor is nearing completion of the Drainage District 6 bridge (between Aldine Westfield Road and Wild Rose Drive) and Aldine Westfield extension to the south, which will provide Spring Creek Pines an additional entrance and exit.

Installation of the 1,900 linear feet of concrete boxes between the Union Pacific Railroad and Geneva Drive for drainage along Rayford Road is set to continue next week. Once the storm sewer is installed, the contractor will begin to pave the third lane.

The Rayford Road project remains on schedule for completion by summer 2019.
