Marjorie Ferrone, CoFounder and Chief Operations Officer of Drone Parks® Worldwide, has been named the Woman to Watch in Education and Entertainment in the drone industry in 2018. Ferrone is one of ten women representing four countries to receive the prestigious award.

“The drone industry is the next great American frontier and women will undoubtedly play an important role in this burgeoning industry. I am beyond happy to be this year’s honoree for Education & Entertainment.” Ferrone said. “I have the opportunity to not just advance a new industry, but also to advance equality for women and others.”

Together with Nick Madincea, Ferrone CoFounded Drone Parks® Worldwide in 2016. Since then, Ferrone has spoken across the nation about drone technology and women in the drone industry. In 2017, Ferrone and Madincea lead an IAP workshop at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on micro drone racing and race course design. Later that year, the pair would give an influential TEDx talk at Texas A&M University titled: “Space for Humanity, the Liberating Truth about Drones”.

“Ferrone’s vision will bring drone education and entertainment to the masses,” stated Women in Drones. Today, Ferrone is finalizing plans for the world’s first indoor Drone Park™ which is set to open in Houston in 2019.

Ferrone and Madincea are both graduates of The Woodlands Prep School.
