Township publishes Incorporation Planning Study Public Forum video

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Township has published the video from the Incorporation Planning Study Public Forum held on September 25, 2018 to its website. More than 330 residents attended the forum and heard presentations from Township Chairman Gordy Bunch and Alan Pennington, lead consultant from the Matrix Consulting Group.

Township Chairman Bunch began the evening taking a look back at key milestones in the governance of The Woodlands and was followed by Pennington who is leading the incorporation study. Residents were invited to offer their comments and ideas in addition to asking questions of the Board and consultants. Additionally, all seven members of the Township Board offered their thoughts and opinions on the process.

The entire program was taped to allow people who were unable to attend to see and hear the discussion and the context of the questions, answers and statements,” Chairman Bunch said. “Residents can either watch the entire evening or click to separate areas that interest them.”

Chairman Bunch’s presentation delved into the history of The Woodlands and its past experiences with the topic of incorporation. "We have been discussing this topic since 1996," Chairman Bunch said. "We're taking a year long process to fully process what all this means. Clearly, the future of The Woodlands resides with what the majority of residents want. Only Township residents can decide to incorporate The Woodlands."

In addition to viewing the video, residents are invited to offer their input and feedback related to the study each month. For the remainder of 2018, the Board meetings scheduled for the third Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. and the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. will be focused strictly on input from residents and reports from two governance consultants. All meetings are held at The Woodlands Township, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard. Agendas are posted online 72 hours in advance of each meeting at www.thewoodlandstownshiptx.gov/boardmeetings.
