Happy Halloween, This is Not a Trick

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Halloween Weather Update: A tornado watch is in effect until 10:00 pm for Montgomery County and surrounding areas.
The threat of severe weather, including tornadoes, will continue across the region ahead of strong cold front. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 10pm, and additional watches may be needed until the front clears the coast early Thursday morning.

Tonight’s Halloween forecast has not changed much, but the timing for Montgomery County could allow for a few trick or treaters willing to brave the rain. The National Weather Service says that the passage of this cold front will produce scattered strong to marginally severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

We will begin to see the first wave of showers and thunderstorms today around 1pm. We can expect moderate to heavy rainfall with amounts ranging from 1 to 3 inches with isolated totals of 4 to 6 inches of rain for the duration of the night. Severe threats include damaging winds 5 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph, small hail and isolated tornadoes will be possible.

If you decide to be out this evening use good judgment. When driving use caution as streets could flood. If there is water over the road. Turn Around, Don’t Drown. If you hear thunder you need to begin making your way home and seek shelter. If you see lightening seek shelter indoors immediately.
