Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX08) has been honored by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) with the Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence. This award is based on Congressman Brady’s voting record in the 115th Congress on issues that are critical to manufacturing in the United States.

“Manufacturing is a crucial component of our economy, especially to workers and families in the Eighth District of Texas. I am dedicated to supporting these jobs by reducing burdensome red-tape, keeping our tax rate competitive, and opening international markets to help sell more Made-in-America products,” said Brady. “I’m honored to be recognized by the National Association of Manufacturers and will continue to support pro-manufacturing legislation.”

“In Texas and across America, manufacturers are creating jobs, investing in communities and raising wages. That’s a direct result of Representative Brady’s support for policies that have strengthened manufacturing and created opportunities for America’s manufacturing workers,” said NAM Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse. “The NAM is proud to stand with lawmakers like Representative Brady who understand manufacturing’s critical contributions to our economy and are working actively to advance the manufacturing agenda.”

The Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence honors members of Congress who demonstrate support for policies that enhance the ability of U.S. manufacturers to succeed in the global economy. Key votes included in the Voting Record are selected by small, medium and large manufacturing executives who serve on the NAM’s Key Vote Advisory Committee.

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. The NAM is the leading advocate for a policy agenda that helps manufacturers compete in the global economy and create jobs across the United States.

Manufacturing employs more than 12 million men and women, contributes $2.25 trillion to the U.S. economy annually, has the largest economic impact of any major sector and accounts for more than three-quarters of private-sector research and development.
