THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Boys Choir is proud to announce upcoming holiday performances that include the 4th annual Christmas in the Woods Lessons and Carols as well as Christmas Concert with The Woodlands Chorale.

Christmas in the Woods Lessons and Carols – occurring on Sunday, December 9 at 5:30 p.m. at HopePointe Anglican Church, 3333 S Panther Creek – will musically whisk enrapt audiences into English cathedrals and college chapels for traditional lessons with classical Christmas carols, but with a unique and gorgeous twist.

“The songs are paired with live tableaus lighted and behind a scrim, along with classical art representations of five traditional Christmas lessons leading to the birth of Christ,” said Sheryl Pond, executive director of The Woodlands Boys Choir. “Audiences of all ages – including many children – participate in carols and hear multiple choirs with instrumentalists singing gorgeous carol settings as well.”

The organization features two different boys choirs – preparatory and tour choirs – and both will sing a planned encore of fun, whimsical carols at the end before everyone enjoys a child-friendly cookie reception.

The Christmas Concert with The Woodlands Chorale will take place at Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church, located at 4881 W Panther Creek, on Saturday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. The concert will feature classic and traditional Noels guaranteed to life the holiday spirit.

“Not only do we love presenting these holiday concerts to bring the spirit to both our local residents and worldwide audiences, but each presentation is an invitation for boys to think about joining our choir,” said Pond. “We’re planning our next round of auditions in January, and choir staff will be available at the concerts to provide information to interested boys and their parents.”

The Woodlands Boys Choir Tour Choir just coming off of a fabulous third season, returning from their DC/Baltimore tour earlier this year, where they participated with nearly 200 boys in the Baltimore Boychoir Festival. This upcoming spring, the Tour Choir will take a mini-weekend tour to participate in the Schlitterbahn Choral Festival in New Braunfels and enjoy the water park in May.

The Woodlands Boys Choir currently encompasses two choirs for boys ages 6 through 13. Auditions for the 2019 season are currently underway. Qualities looked for in the boys are a love of singing, a free, controlled tone that will blend well, a good sense of pitch, and self-discipline.
