THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Christian Academy Named Apple Distinguished School For Third Consecutive Term — The Woodlands, Texas — November, 13, 2018

The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School (ADS) for the 2018–2021school years. Apple recognizes institutions throughout the world, “dedicated to offering their students a campus that blends digital learning, and prepares them to create and invent as prominent and innovative leaders in college and the workforce.” This marks the third consecutive term for which TWCA has applied and been selected. Only 400 schools in 29 countries are recognized worldwide.

Head of School, Julie Ambler, believes the ADS distinction attributes to a dedicated faculty, staff and administration, and the school’s competitive, biblically-based, college preparatory curriculum. “We are preparing and inspiring our students to reach their highest potential - spiritually, academically, physically, and socially,” she said. “Recognition as an Apple Distinguished School for the third time affirms our initiative to bring an innovative learning environment to our students.'

A rigorous process for recertification motivates the school’s Department of Instructional Technology to continue elevating opportunities for learning and instruction through technology. Students are provided access to a myriad of Apple devices, beginning with iPads in pre-K, to MacBook Pros which are given to all middle and high school students. Additionally, 25 students have earned Every classroom is equipped with a Smart Board, projector, and Apple TVs, and wireless internet access is available across the entire 40-acre campus. “We must demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in order to meet the 21st century needs of our students,” said TWCA Director of Institutional Technology, Janet Coe.

Construction on a three-story, state-of-the-art high school building, complete with robotics and engineering labs and technology maker space, is slated for completion in May 2019. Said Coe, “We strive to provide every resource to allow our teachers to integrate technology across all curriculum. This award highlights our success as an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment.”
