MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- An off duty Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy was working an extra job in the subdivision of Oakhurst when he observed a red in color Toyota passenger car pull up near his location. Two males exited the suspicious vehicle and walked up a driveway where they opened the doors of a Truck and proceeded to look through it. When confronted by the Sheriff's Deputy, one male took off on foot and the other male jumped back in the car and drove away with the lights off and fled the scene. A local citizen observed that vehicle at the golf course with no lights on and notified authorities. That male was captured a short time later. The search then continued for the male that fled the scene on foot and after an extensive search, that male eventually was captured when he called an Uber driver to come pick him up. A Pct. 4 Constable Sergeant and Deputy were still in the area when they observed the small SUV drive down the same road that was just being searched. The Uber driver was stopped immediately after it exited from the road that was being searched and the second male was located inside the SUV. Both males have addresses out of Houston. Great job to all agencies involved, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constables Office and Splendora Police Department in capturing both suspects. Both males were booked in for Burglary of Motor Vehicle and the one that ran also caught an evading charge.
