Stephen D. Bauer of United Capital The Woodlands named again to “Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors”

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- For the second consecutive year, Stephen D. Bauer, CFP®, CRPC®, Wealth Advisor with United Capital in The Woodlands, has been named among “Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors.”

The 2018 Top Next-Generation Wealth Advisors list includes 1,000 young, talented advisors who represent the future of the wealth management industry. More than 20,000 advisors were nominated, then vetted and ranked by SHOOK Research. Bauer landed a ranking spot in the top quarter at #227 this year.

Nominations had to include advisors who have built and lead their own teams, advisors who have joined of specialists, and are acting in an advisors-type role—planners, analysts, relationship managers, etc., and those who are hybrids of these models.

The Forbes ranking of America’s Top Millennial Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative data, rating individuals with a minimum of four years relevant experience and evaluating their business practice. Portfolio management was not considered and this ranking is not indicative of investment performance. Advisors listed in this ranking may be considered future leaders of the industry, who may act as stewards for their clients, molding the direction of wealth management.

Bauer is a Certified Financial Planner™ Professional and Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM. He started his career as an advisor in 2008. His primary focus is working with oil & gas executives since his late father was in the industry, and also working with widows and divorcees in the areas of wealth management and guidance through the financial obstacles of losing a spouse.

Bauer has educated hundreds of retirees in The Woodlands and Houston area and has spoken at multiple retirement, civic and community organizations including Lone Star College, The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce and South Montgomery County Association of Retired Teachers.

He has been recognized by Texas Monthly and the Houston Business Journal. Most recently, he has been named as a Five Star Wealth Manager by Five Star Professional and Texas Monthly (Houston region) for the fourth consecutive year.

He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Economics and Finance.

Community minded, Bauer is a diplomat for The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce as well as a member of the Young Professionals Network and is a very active member of the Woodlands Rotary Club. He is a graduate of the Leadership Montgomery County class of 2016. In addition, he serves as Chairman of St. Simon and Jude Pastoral Council. Bauer and his wife, Lisa, reside in The Woodlands with their one-year-old son, Lukas.
