MONTGOMERY, Texas -- On December 1, 2018 at about 7:00 am, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a Burglary of a Habitation call in the 19600 block of Pin Oak Drive Porter, Texas. Neighboring residents witnessed a white Jeep driving around the neighborhood and later saw two white males carrying tools out of a house. When confronted by the neighbors, the two males, later identified as Jeffrey Cloud (5/30/80) and William Russian (8/19/99) ran into the woods, and the white female driver, later identified as Melissa Marshall (8/7/81) fled the neighborhood in the Jeep.

Melissa returned to the neighborhood a short time later to look for Jeffrey and William. The neighbors contacted 911 and followed the Jeep in their own vehicle. Nearby deputies were able to intercept Melissa and during their investigation learned Jeffrey and William were at a nearby friend’s residence on Amy Lane, where they have recently been staying. Deputies went to that residence and observed Jeffrey and William in the front yard. Upon seeing law enforcement, Jeffrey and William immediately retreated into the home and a perimeter was set up. Deputies were able to coax Jeffrey and William from the home and both were positively identified and detained. After Jeffrey and William were advised of their rights, they both confessed to burglarizing the residence to steal property. All three suspects were arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation.

Montgomery County Sheriff Office thanks the neighboring residents for being observant and reporting the suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Office so these criminals could be taken off the streets. This is the second incident in 24 hours in which the public has assisted the Sheriff’s Office in the arrest of criminals attempting to steal property of hard-working citizens of Montgomery County. This incident is but another example of what happens when law enforcement and the community work together to successfully solve problems in the community.
