WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after the House passed a year-end tax package that includes tax relief for communities hit by natural disasters, permanent solutions to two temporary tax policies, retirement and savings provisions, relief from multiple Obamacare taxes, bipartisan IRS reform, and a few minor time-sensitive technical corrections to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:

“As we finish off a year of historic growth for America, I applaud the House for passing this important legislation. This package will continue to boost our economy by helping our communities hit by natural disasters rebuild, by making it easier for folks to save for retirement, by cutting taxes that drive up health care costs, by setting a new tone for how we handle temporary tax policies moving forward, and putting taxpayers first. This legislation is a win for workers and Main Street businesses, and I look forward to continuing to advance these valuable provisions.”
