The community continues to follow the story of Grant Milton, a Woodlands High School football player who suffered a traumatic brain injury in November 2016.

Politics

The 2018 mid-term election was a big story across the nation, state and county. On top of that, The Woodlands Township hosted a series of public forums to introduce the concept of Township incorporation, a topic that will be at the top of the calendar throughout 2019.

Weather

We had some crazy weather in 2018, which led to the almost-unheard-of cancellation of Fourth of July festivities in The Woodlands. Halloween was also a rainout, with many communities opting to postpone trick-or-treating until the day after. Record-setting rainfall and heavy winds let to major flooding concerns throughout Montgomery County more than once last year.

Business around town

The Woodlands welcomed new restaurants and entertainment options last year, with more slated to open in 2019. We will also say goodbye to some favorites.
