THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Four Montgomery County charities will benefit from the thousands of dollars in change inserted in Market Street’s voluntary parking meters throughout 2019 as the shopping, dining and entertainment destination announces the beneficiaries of the 2019 Change for Charity program: American Heart Association, ASD Hope Inc. Texas Autism Academy, Operation Pets Alive and Meals on Wheels Montgomery County.

The Woodlands Car Club also generously raises money for the Change for Charity recipients throughout the year at their events, held the first Sunday of each month. Their contributions, coupled with the amount donated to Market Street's 68 parking meters make up the total amount given to a selected charity each quarter.

“Market Street’s Change for Charity program is a longstanding initiative that enables us to give back to and support the community we serve,” says Noemi Gonzalez, marketing director at Market Street. “Our shoppers have contributed more than $200,000 to the Change for Charity program since its inception.”

The program’s first-quarter beneficiary, American Heart Association of Montgomery County, wants to see a world free of heart disease and stroke. The AHA hosts community impact events such as CPR trainings, and provides resources for healthy living.

The second-quarter beneficiary, ASD Hope Inc. Texas Autism Academy, is a private school for children on the Autism Spectrum that incorporates the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis into daily instruction and curriculum. ASD Hope, Inc. is the organization that makes Texas Autism Academy possible.

Operation Pets Alive, the program’s third-quarter recipient, is dedicated to elevating Montgomery County to a no-kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter local shelters and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave shelters alive.

Market Street’s Change for Charity fourth-quarter beneficiary, Meals on Wheels Montgomery County, combats the issues of aging: hunger, loneliness, and loss of independence. They work to foster independence and dignity for homebound seniors in Montgomery County by providing them with nutritious meals, caring contacts, and transportation.
