CONROE, Texas -- We are excited to kick off SCI://TECH 2019 in just over a week with the Anadarko Senior High Science Bowl and the Private School Science Fair! With 13 events and nearly 5,000 kids participating over four weekends, there's one thing we could use to ensure a sucessful year: YOU! Here are five reasons why your gift of time matters. Register today!

5. Doing good makes you feel better! In the Doing Good is Good for You study, 75 percent of respondents said they feel physically healthier by volunteering and 93 percent reported and improved mood. (For those who like data, here's the report.)

4. There’s something for everyone! If science isn’t your thing, don’t worry. By judging the Junior High Fair, you can be comforted that it is the students' job to explain their discoveries to you. Plus, we offer an on-site orientation to help answer your questions. If science and technology excites you, consider judging the Senior High Fair and prepare to be impressed by what the students know!

3. You have a full collection of SCI://TECH volunteer mugs, and you don’t want to miss the latest model. We can't wait to see your #WhereSTEMGetsItsRoots mug shot!

2. You have the ability to inspire! Interactions with positive adult role models matter. EfTA was founded on that premise, and YOU have the opportunity to encourage kids to explore and ask questions about their world. Who knows what these kids will go on to discover?

1. You just might learn something new!

Science fair judges are needed especially for the Chevron Phillips Senior High and Entergy Junior High Fairs on Friday, February 1 at 7:45 am, 9:30 am or 2:00 pm at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe. Each shift is about three hours long. Register today!

For those that can't make it February 1, we are also registering judges for the Private School Science Fair on January 25 at 5:15 pm on the Lone Star College - Montgomery campus. Volunteers are also needed for events like the Biotechnology Competition, Engineering Design, Science Bowl competitions, and more. Visit www.efta-us.org/events for additional information. We hope to see you at SCI://TECH!
