The Woodlands Township Board holds meeting on Wednesday, January 23, 2019

THE WOODLANDS, Texas --

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held its regular meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard in The Woodlands, Texas.

Before addressing agenda items, the Board of Directors accepted reports from Village Association representatives from the villages of Alden Bridge and Indian Springs.

The Board of Directors took the following actions on the Consent Agenda:


Approved the minutes from the November 28, 2018 Board Planning Session, the November 28, 2018 Regular Board Meeting, and the December 5, 2018 Regular Board Meeting for the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Township.

Approved 2019 schedules and charges for recreation facilities, pools, programs and services.

Approved an Interlocal Agreement for Law Enforcement Services with Harris County.

Approved a resolution in support of Texas Recreation and Parks Account and Texas State Parks and Wildlife.

Approved an application to National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Monarch Butterfly and Pollinators Conservation Fund Grant.

Awarded a bid for the replacement of playground equipment at Sundance Park, Bluff Creek Park, Summer Storm Park, Windvale Park and Meadowlake Park.

Authorized the issuance of a check to Tammy J. McRae, Tax Assessor/Collector for Montgomery County, Texas.

Received the 2018 Summary of Accomplishments.

Awarded a bid for the purchase of a 2019 Pierce Velocity Heavy Rescue Truck.

Awarded a bid for the purchase of a 2019 Pierce Fire Engine.

The Board of Directors then moved on to take the following actions on the Regular Agenda:


Approved Naming Rights/Sponsorship Agreement with Woodforest National Bank for The Woodlands triathlon.

Received and accepted a presentation by Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Wayne Mack regarding suicide rates in Montgomery County.

Received and accepted quarterly and annual reports on Law Enforcement from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Constable Precinct 3 and Harris County Constable Precinct 4.

Received and accepted a briefing on traffic accidents at the intersection of Crownridge Drive and Research Forest Drive.

Received and accepted a presentation by San Jacinto River Authority regarding the Bear Branch Gravity Main Rehabilitation project.

Received and accepted an update from the Development Standards Committee.

Received a briefing on the Woodlands Parkway widening project.

Received and accepted a quarterly update from Visit The Woodlands (Convention & Visitors Bureau).

Approved a policy regarding placement of additional agenda materials on the Township website when materials are not available at the time of the agenda posting.

Received and accepted the financial report.

Deferred action on a license agreement for use of Creekside Village Green Park and a lease for use of property on Millennium Forest Drive between The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands Land Development Company.
