THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Bar Association (WBA) will award two, $3,000 Future Lawyers scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors in Montgomery County. Public, private and home school seniors are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have aspirations of becoming a lawyer after completion of their undergraduate degrees, be in good standing with their current schools and be attending a four-year college in Fall 2019.

The WBA awards these Future Lawyers Scholarships in honor of Ida G. Stewart and Kevin T. Shea, former WBA Board members who contributed so much to the WBA and the local community. This scholarship program seeks to recognize and encourage a spirit of community involvement and good citizenship in the Woodlands and surrounding areas and allows the WBA to support the next generation of Montgomery County lawyers.

The deadline to apply is March 1, 2019. The WBA will select scholarship recipients based upon financial need, academic performance, extracurricular activities, citizenship and community involvement, a demonstrated strong desire to pursue a legal career and recommendations.
