Constable Alan Rosen, AVDA educate youth on dating violence Feb. 28

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and the Office of Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen in partnership with AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse), invite parents, teens and college students to an informative seminar on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at the Houston Community College Southeast campus. “AVDA is the best organization to partner with, because the vital services they provide to victims of domestic violence. Members of the organization work tirelessly to educate the public on how to end the cycle of abuse and enhance the quality of life for every survivor,” Constable Alan Rosen said.

The seminar, focused on Teen Dating Abuse Prevention includes first-hand testimonials, interactive presentations and Q & A Session. “We are proud to be working with Constable Alan Rosen and the deputies of Precinct One in providing victims with information about our life-changing services,” stated AVDA CEO Sherri Kendall. “Given the prevalence of teen dating violence, we’re excited to partner with the Constable’s Office to promote healthy relationships for teens and young adults. Research shows that adult intimate partner violence is greatly increased by experiencing abuse in adolescence.”
