Magnolia JROTC Earns Her Gold Badge

MAGNOLIA, Texas - Magnolia senior Jasmine Wilkerson is the Battalion Commander of the Magnolia Navy JROTC, and her second hat is the captain of the 3 position Air Rifle Team. Jasmine has been shooting for Magnolia for 3 years. She has excelled faster and farther than any Magnolia JROTC cadet before her, finishing her career earning the Civilian Marksmanship’s Excellence in Competition (EIC) Gold Badge.

The EIC Gold Badge is awarded by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). The CMP was created by Theodore Roosevelt and is the governing body of all competitive shooting in the United States military and civilian. The gold badge is serialized and is only awarded to the best shooters in the country, Jasmine qualified for hers through 3 years of sustained superior performance.

Jasmine received her Gold Badge at the recent Navy National Competition held in Anniston, Alabama. The Gold Badge is a great culmination of her career. She has been to the Navy Nationals three times and the All Services Nationals once.
