HOUSTON, TX --Artfully decorated model homes, rousing community events and selfie-worthy pop-up art will offer inspiration during “Houston’s Largest Home Tour” in April.

Throughout the month, 13 Johnson Development Corp. communities — including three in Montgomery County — will open hundreds of model homes and available homes for sale daily. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.

“Around the city, there will more than 150 model homes to explore and in Montgomery County, there will be nearly 50 models open,” said Christen Johnson, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Johnson Development. “Beyond the homes, though, we will have a huge variety of pop-up art perfect for family photos or that Instagram-worthy snap. The tour is really about inspiration, both in home design and feel-good artful moments.”

From crawfish to barbecue to giant art installations, the three Montgomery County communities — Grand Central Park, Harmony and Woodforest — will be offering numerous reasons to visit during April, Johnson said.

Grand Central Park, a 2,046-acre master-planned community in Conroe is inviting the public to Brews & BBQ April 13 at 715 Camp Strake Road. Free activities include a live performance by the Joe Bailey Band, mechanical bull riding, pony rides, giant yard pong, Skee-Ball and inflatables. Tickets for a catered barbecue lunch cost $10 and can be pre-purchased online or paid for with cash at the door. Alcohol also will be available for purchase. Proceeds go to Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary, which is located in Grand Central Park.

While in Grand Central Park, event-goers can tour eight model homes and pose for photos on a log swing that can seat five to six. Visit www.grandcentralparktx.com for details.

Harmony, a 1,000-acre community in north Houston, will have 15 model homes open for tours during April. Inventory homes also will be open. See www.harmony-houston.com for more information.

Woodforest, one of the nation’s top-selling communities, is hosting a Crawfish Carnival April 6. Heaps of spicy crustaceans and a Ferris wheel headline the event taking place at Christine Allen Nature Park, 5831 Woodforest Parkway South. Admission and activities such as Zydeco music, a carousel ride, carnival games, crawfish races, inflatables, a photo booth and more are free. A $10 food ticket includes 3 pounds of crawfish or a food item and non-alcoholic drink. Tickets at the door are cash-only and cost $15. Adults 21+ can purchase beer, wine and margaritas. Twenty-five models will be on the tour and 12-foot-tall pinwheels will decorate Christine Allen Nature Park during April. For details, visit www.woodforesttx.com.
