THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The mouth-watering, crispy texture of Chicken Fried Steak. The creamy, peppery white gravy. If you’re a fan of this popular Southern dish, you’re in for a treat at The Republic Grille. If it wasn’t enough that they have been recognized for serving an award-winning “Best Chicken Fried Steak”, the locally-owned restaurant has taken this popular entrée to extraordinary heights.

Typically made of tenderized round steak, The Republic Grille has elevated the traditional Chicken Fried Steak dish by including an ultimate, tender beef ingredient of certified Akaushi (Aka-ooshie) beef, aka American Wagyu.

“Akaushi beef is truly a rare, exotic Japanese beef that is available at very few restaurants in the Houston area, and we are among a select few in Texas to serve it as a Chicken Fried Steak,” said Terry McBurney, Founder and Managing Partner of The Republic Grille. “We’ve just recently added it to our menu and it’s been incredibly well-received. It brings a melt-in-your-mouth element to Chicken Fried Steak.”

Akaushi is a separate and distinct breed of Japanese red Wagyu cattle. Originated in Kumamoto, Japan, the breed produces remarkable marbling and a high percentage of oleaginous, unsaturated fat — two unique and key factors to the growing popularity of the Akaushi brand.

The new Chicken Fried Steak at The Republic Grille can be ordered in a small or large size and is served with their TRG Signature Cream Gravy. The entrée is complemented by a choice of two Southern comfort side selections such as bacon jalapeno mac-n-cheese, southern green beans, or jalapeno corn just to name a few originals.

Offering a blend of Texas and Southern cuisine in an eclectic Hill County atmosphere, The Republic Grille serves only the highest quality cuisine and does so at very reasonable prices. Their small Akaushi Chicken Fried Steak is $16 and the large is only $20!

The Republic Grille made its successful debut in 2014 in the Panther Creek Shopping Center at 4775 W. Panther Creek. Guests enjoy the casual ambiance with a décor rich with Hill-Country aesthetics highlighted by historical photos of The Woodlands. In 2016, McBurney opened a second location at Woodlands Parkway and 30340 FM 2978, which showcases decorative elements of the Montgomery County community. Both locations offer private dining rooms as well as relaxing patio seating.

Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, The Republic Grille is often rated #1 on Trip Advisor. McBurney has plans to open two additional locations in Montgomery County in 2020.
